Unique Guest Experiences

After a busy day of negotiations or briefings, when you reach that point and you really need something different to do, then take them sailing!! We can provide a totally different activity that will be appreciated. Your guests can enjoy two or more hours sailing around Geographe Bay onboard Samsara, our luxurious cruising yacht.

Everybody onboard can relax and enjoy views of Busselton from the sea, or they can try sailing. There is plenty of space on board so guests do not feel crowded in which creates a good opportunity for conversations to flow in an easy and relaxed manner.

A four hour cruise costs $995 and you would need to allow 15 minutes pre and post cruise. If you have more time available, why not book a full 8 hour day cruise at $1995 and enjoy lunch onboard from our catering menu and a swim by the beach. Team Building

To keep an ocean going yacht running efficiently you need to be able to read the environment, communicate well, and work as a team that is capable of rapid decisions and flexible thinking.

We can custom design a corporate experience that takes participants through a series of challenges that emphasise the importance of communication, teamwork and cooperation. Qualified instructors will coordinate the program and this can be combined with onshore briefings. The program will help to build leadership in your team, and contribute to an espirit de corps that emerges from groups who have been challenged and have succeeded.

Prices start from $550 per person for a full day for up to 6 participants (minimum of 4).

					  I was singularly impressed by Gary from the way he was available during the theory element through to the week of practical sailing. He managed a crew from zero experience... read more to myself with decades of sailing experience very well, ensuring we all took a lot out of his coaching.  His style was calm but form when required. The only point to be aware of is the sharing of a cabin with another person - separated by a lee-cloth but thats all!  So recommend booking with a friend....

					  Our 5 day Competent Crew training course with Gary from Oceanwest Charters exceeded my expectations. With years of powerboat experience but very limited sailing experience the week was a steep... read more learning curve. 					  Gary is a highly competent, professional, friendly and calm instructor. He managed to get me up to speed and ready for my Yacht master exam in just five days and... read more I had a blast doing it.

Samsara (the boat...a 41ft Beneteau) is a delight to sail and it is a genuine privilege to spend time aboard. 

Gary's wife Joanne is a gorgeous lady who does an absolutely wonderful job of victualling. Food aboard is way above the standard of most tour boats...and far exceeded my expectations for a sailing school.

Despite a couple of strange personalities on my course, the vibe remained positive and Gary was unwavering in his professionalism and focus on the task at hand in a fun and friendly manner.

As a self taught sailor I was personally lacking a lot of the finer points of sailing and related skills but with the guidance and demonstration offered during the Oceanwest Yacht master exam prep week I ended up with not only a qualification...but a lot of new skills and a few new friends.

I would highly recommend Oceanwest for anyone wanting to begin, improve or learn anything about sailing.
