A Yachtmaster Offshore is an experienced yachtsman or woman, capable of skippering a yacht on any offshore or coastal passage anywhere in the world, up to 150 miles offshore. They must have the ability to do this without using electronic navigation equipment and must be capable of entering any port anywhere in the world, given sufficient navigational information and depth of water, for the first time at night.

This Yachtmaster preparation course is designed as a practical refresher course for experienced sailors and will cover all skills likely to be examined. The week will involve intensive boat handling under power and sail, with each student taking turns in being in command of the vessel on short passages by day and night.

Specific intensive exercises are undertaken giving students the opportunity to practice for the exam, exercises such as pilotage and blind navigation, emergency situations, navigating to a position with out electronics, with a student de-brief on each aspect of the course, giving you an honest opinion of your chances at successfully passing the exam.

The course is extremely intensive and aims to give you the best possible preparation to help you pass the Yachtmaster exam. We can also arrange a RYA Yachtmaster Examiner for you to take the Yachtmaster exam onboard our training yacht at the end of the preparation week. Please contact us for current prices.
